I just bought a 2010 short bed and am looking at my options for sled decks.

This is a mega cab but same idea as your shorty. I think the Dodges are a 6'6" bed? Maybe? More pics in a few.

The million dollar question. The top 4 truck mfg's do not post bedside ratings nor will they give you one. From personal experience, mine has held up just fine, no issues at all. I have hauled a John Deere 825i Gator (1700 lbs), sleds, mowers, etc.. My thinking on it is your taking a box with no top, and adding a top to complete the structure. I have talked with Marathon and there has not been one issue reported so far. What helped me the most was talking to construction guys and lumber rack mfg's who haul heavy loads everyday, and it has been a non issue with them. Sorry O.P., that turned out longer than I expected! Back to topic

I love my truck boss, works so slick and looks great! can use it for anything, no other way to go!! but the leg supports are a must if you got two sleds on it and want your tailgate to open with no struggle.
