2009 or 2010??

Buying a new M8 153 this year and not sure if i should pick up the left over 09 or pay the extra money for the 2010?

Buy the 2010. if you don't you will always second guess yourself. I bought an early 900 1M and saved as few bucks always kicked myself in the a$$ for not getting the later versions . JMHO:beer;

The 09 M8 153" is a great sled and it works very well. I saved a ton of money buying mine at the end of last season. Dealers were selling them for under $8,000, even for the sno pro version.

But.......... the money I saved, I have spent anyway trying to get my 09 to meet the 2010 power level mark. By doing so, I'm sure my engine warranty is no longer much good either.

I should have waited two more weeks for the 2010 models to be released when I bought mine (and I knew it) but, the lure of a good deal got to me and I took the bait and now kick myself a bit.

Good luck

from what I have seen, the 09 M8 HCR's have more balls to them then the regular 09 M8's. I am guessing they had pre-'10 HO engines in them. Cant say for sure, but the extra jam they have seem like more than just a hotter race ecu program and some titanium stuff. I would try to find one of those.

But, a full warranty on a sled that has all the bolt on mods you would want on an 09 with a performance port job is worth the extra cash in my book. Sure you have to run 91 on the 2010 800HO's, but you would with that aftermarket stuff on there anyways.

if you can find an 09 HCR for a killer price do that, if there isn't much $ difference go 2010.

Consumer 09 M8 HCR has the exact same motor and ecu as the regual 09 M8 sno pro, the 09 M8 HCR has a hotter ecu from the race department.

They both seem to be great sleds.........

Get the best you can at the time, unless your a trust fund baby and buy one every year !

2010 all the way

If you don't have the trust fund just loose the girlfriend the sled will love u more anyways and won't complain when you want to ride it:D

I rode with a 09 HCR and I do not believe this one bit, the HCR did not run any better than my standard 09 M8. In fact after I put the slp pipe on my 09 M8 it ran much better than the HCR.

Thanks for the reply's.
Not looking for a HCR or SP(don't need the suspension i dont think:confused:) or a 1000. I really like the look of the new 2010 M8. My main concern was, is it worth the extra money? Then again the more HP the better!.

If you are going to run it stock, get the 2010. You can't mod an 09 and come out cost wise.

I bought a 09 162SP in april simply because with boost it makes little difference and the $2800 I saved pays for most of the turbo.

I have a 2010 coming, and I cant wait till it gets here. But, I don't think you can go wrong on either sled, sometimes that extra bit of money makes a difference. I was really sold on the new engine, I think is is going to be awesome. Plus, with a saturated used sled market, I figured having a newer 800 motor may make it a little easier to sell in the future....Time will tell on that one.

Either way you go you will have a great sled to ride!
