Flathead (Kalispell) was in that tournament in 2005, they placed 4th in the second bracket..I was told you guys do things a little different back East, some of the wrestlers on a team can be from a different school is that true? Here you have to go to that school to be on the team..

You have to go to that school to be on the team, in MN as well. Although Charlie Falck, who now wrestles for the University of Iowa wrestled in Apple Valley, MN...grew up in Iowa...crazy story...almost quit wrestling in high school...Some teams known for a bit of "loophole" recruiting...bs if you ask me

2x Scott... you think that is loud, you guys need a dual meet state team tournament. You should check out the Minnesota State Tourney some day!!!!

I wanted to make it to the Iowa state tourney this year but it isnt in the cards....I have heard its NUTS...

Here in Idaho they let a kid that goes to a school that does not have a wrestling team wrestle for another school. A couple of years ago we (Challis HS) had a kid or two travel every day from Mackay (about 60 miles one way) to attend practice.

It was allowed until the state tournament when they had to wrestle for thier own school, even though our coaches were the ones that would be on the sidelines. It worked pretty well because 90% of the traveling that Challis did had to go trough Mackay anyway, so the bus would simply stop and pick them up on the way to the matches.

Something similar happened in SD, around 10-15 years ago. Someone may be able to remember the names better than me(Twister your an old SD wrestler do you know?).

their dad was the coach smoky wollman 4 time high school wrestling champ and 4 time golden glove boxer tough sob.

wrestled Troy a few times gave him a run but these guys were in a league of there own

Twins Bill and Jim Schere mobridge sd both 4 time champs late 70's. both wrestled in the olympics for the good ol USA

Sorry to post Jack....the sight i adore on the basketball floor is wrestling mats from door to door.

One of the busiest weekends in the ER and x-ray is the weekend of the clash. Second only to MX nationals I'd say.

Didn't Sydney travel to the Clash a few years back?

Sure do work there. The name Speer doesn't ring any bells....just moved here from town a little over a year ago and I grew up in the north woods.

This past weekend Montana had the inagural Tournament of Champions.

All of the state champs were invited to compete against each other. They also selected one wildcard to fill out a 4 man bracket. My 189 pounder got the wildcard.

More than 1/2 of the state champs came and it was very cool tourney.
It it VERY a cool idea. The AA, A and B/C champs going at it.

We were all looking forward to a rematch of the match in the vid I posted, but it didn't happen. The Glasgow kid didn't come. And his coach wasn't happy about it.

The best match of the day, IMO, was the two time state champ from Miles City vs the 2 time finalist from Kalispel. WOW that was a good match. It was all offense. The score was like 14-15 or something like that. It got a standing ovation. WOW that is what a TOC is all about. Freakin COOL event.
