2009 M8 with 3400 miles worth it?

I found a 2009 M8 with 3400 miles on it and was wondering if that is something that I should look into more? I don't know how long the 800s last and haven't heard that much on them. From what I know the sled is stock and from the pictures it looks pretty clean.

The question is how cheap is it? Compression of cylinders, condition of track, etc. If it is cheap and maintenance has bee kept up, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I had a 07 M8 with 2700Miles on it when i sold it and i never had any problems with it!!! I have heard of guys getting 5000 to 7000 Miles out of the 800's with no major problems?? So i wouldn't have a problem with buying it if the price is right and if it looks like the sled has been up kept good.

They are asking $6000 for it and I haven't looked at it in person but from the pictures it looks clean. I am still trying to get a hold of the guy to ask some questions. I am deciding between this sled and a 2006 M7 with 153 in. track. Speedwerx-single pipe, silencer, timing key, oversize secondary clutch, titanium clutch springs, air intake, R&M Lighting products side vents, Holz ice scratchers, and Ported track. Don't know how many miles are on the M7 yet. What sled do you think would be better?

just tell the owner thats high miles and offer $3000.thats what i keep getting in the

Go look at both sleds in person before buying. Either might be a bargain, or a nightmare. If a sled is completely thrashed, maintenance bills can quickly stack up and make a bargain a money pit.

Both the 2009 M8 and 2006 M7 are solid sleds with good reputations. All things being equal condition wise, I would definitely consider paying less for an M7 as it is a few years older.

I would take the M8 if its a clean as you say the photos are. Reverse, Powerclaw Track,Float suspension are just a few major reasons for the 09! not saying the M7 is not a great sled. Just sounds like its been tinkered with!!

x2 if you are looking for a pull and go sled. that is ALOT OF STUFF on the m7 I have heard sketchy things regarding the timing key depending on your elevation.

Talked to the guy with the 2006 M7 and it has 2600 miles and the sled is really clean inside and out. It comes with the stock pipe and can. He said that he never had a problem with running it in Minn. and I'm in Michigan but I have also heard that the timing key can cause problems. If I took the key out to run in MI would I have any problems?

A 2006 M7 with 2600 (and work done to it, so it's been ridden hard likely) or a 2009 M8 with not many more miles... easy choice unless the M8 is thrashed.

The improvements to the sleds in the last 3 years has been immense imo.

I paid $6,200 for my 09 with 900 miles over two months ago. It was a sno pro with a 2010 seat and slp air intake and clutch kit. Sounds to me he is $2,000.00 too high. Just my opinion

That sled is worth a lot more than $4K, the sled is 2 years old and if it's been taken care of its worth much more than 1/3 of it's original value. People keep dumping sleds for a fraction of what they are worth and that's why people like snowmobiler can't sell his sled, there is always some other guy willing to give his away.

It is definately worth more than 4k, but in this economy findin a buyer could be tough....bring 5k and he will probably take it...
