2009 M8 steering

I know there has been a post on this but here we go. On a trail the front end seems heavy so I loosened my limiter strap one notch, still did not help. Just wondering if it is the stock ****ty skies, any help would be great. I also greased all the zerks on the sled a few times

lift the front end in the air and see how it turns without any load on it.....some of them have binding in the spindles and just kind of seize up after a while...check tie rods too, seen some of them too tight causing issues.

M8 sterring

May sound crazy, I put 90lbs in front shocks, 100lbs rear shock. It handles well in turns and feels better in front

Did you say don't put simmons skis on, What! That was the best thing I ever did for steering. Just the Gen 1s

the center shock tends to sake out when just sitting there - my 1000 was pretty bad. stiffer springs in the center shock helped a lot - and then crank 'em up until you like the steering feel. the more you crank the spring though, the more it will trench in soft snow and it will tend to wheelie more too.

Steering tight on new M8

I went to our local dealer to look over a new M8. It was on a lift in the show room, I tested for tight steering. It turned to the right easily, when turning left it was tight.

It felt like it was in the steering shaft bushing at the top, is this piece a nylon type bushing and could it be reemed for an easier fit.

Also if it were the spindle shaft how do arctic cat spindles come apart, I looked on the parts list and it doesn't show how it comes apart.

just looking for ways some one could ease the fit of the parts to make them move easier.

tighten middle shock accordingly as u like 4-5 turns at a time then try it-mine is all the way tight, as sabertooth said
its helps greatly and it is free

They don't come apart. BUMMER!! Had to buy a new one when just the top arms that connects to the tie rod got bent way out of shape. Must be built that way to save weight???

There was a problem with a large batch of heim joints that came from a different vendor. Try the shock adj first, lift the sled up and check for binding in the heims and grease the spindles and the two steering shafts in the bulkhead. Cat knows about the problem but has not commented on it but I know they are releasing a fix.
