2009 M8 SP or 2009 M1000 SP

Well guys I posted on here last week weather to go with a 08 or 09 M1000. Well I decided to spend the extra money and go with a 09, but the dealer has both M8 and M1000. I'm having a hard time to decide. I probably won't be doing a lot of mods of then the normal stuff like a can, y-pipe, and maybe a pipe. I basically want to pull the rope and ride. Which sled will do this the best? I do like the big bore, cause there is no replacement for displacement!!

Like most everyone else who has asked the same question in the past you failed to tell us some very important info.

1 How big are you?
2 What is your skill?
3 What type of riding do you do?

like he said.....but...

i have ridden both quite a bit last year. although i have the HCR it still is an 800.
the track size is something to consider big time too. i rode a 163 m 1000 last year on more than one occasion. lots of torque but heavy feeling compared to my 09 HCR. it pulls harder but for some reason does not climb as fast? i think it has more to do with the attack angle of the hcr? anyways if you are under a 200lbs love the tree trail and boondocking the M8 all the way. if you like to point and shoot...the M10 is your sled.

If you want to pull the rope and ride I would not do those mods on an m1000. you had better go with the m8 if you want to mod. about the only thing you can do to the m1000 without adding a fuel controller safely is a can.

Buy the 800 and put an SLP pipe set on. If you really want it to work good, spring for a Diamond S hood with the built in intake plenum. I ran this setup all last year and was very happy with it.

There is no reason to get a m1000 if your not going to mod it(full exhaust, 192hp) and you need to know a little bit to get them working perfect. If you want pull and go, get a m8 put on full slp pipe and some lightweight stuff. the m8 with full slp will beat most stock m1000's
