2009 M8 snopro clutching recomendations.

Since the 2009 M8 has been out for a while, i have stock machine with after market can. I would like a bit more snap on the bottom end. What works really well on the M8. Also is the secondary still a problem for back shifting? Any help would be great.

I am running stok weights, added a shift assist and rock rollers for this year.

I had no problems bone stock last year, very snappy.

Make sure your running the right weights

Did you install the rock rollers? Are they easy to install? I was thinking about going with different helix, on secondary 40/36. what do you think. Stock is 36 degree.

I have the shift assist and the rock rollers too. I was very happy with my 09 too. I did have an SLP pipe kit though.

If you like to tune, a set of Cutler or Dalton adjustable weights would be worth buying. That will save you from having a box of clutch weights that just weren't quite right.

I bought a couple different primary spring to try but, never had the time. Then I sent my primary to SLP to be balanced and while they were at it I had them shim my primary and add their MTX weights. I'll keep my others to test later.

I'm one of those guys that believes in loading the motor. I try to throw as much clutch weight at an engine as it will take and still make it's target RPM. I have also been known to use very high total force primary springs so I can throw even more weight in my primary weights. Works for me but, others prefer lighter weights.

There's a great thread with all the springs available on here somewhere. Do a search and you'll learn a ton.

Good Luck

Yes, I did everything myself. You could do it all at the same time. Its not rocket science, but its not changing a belt either :)

where do you ride and what kind of riding do you do.

X2 on shift assist and rollers.

seen the oiler stick a little and cause a lag off bottom from loading up as well.

Assuming you are properly clutched, the next thing would be lower gears. I have had good luck on my M7 and M1000 for low end snap and boondocking by lowering the gear ratio. Especially for bigger guys like myself.

I would go with a little stiffer primary spring the stock one is to low on engagement for me. That will give you a little more snap out of the hole.
