2009 M-Series Boss Seat

Hard As A Rock

Mine is still as hard as the day I first rode it. 1300 miles and I sit probably 3/4ths of the time. Replacing with a new '10 seat next year.:beer;

I never did think it was hard, firm maybe, if you think that seat is hard, go try a KTM dirt bike seat, ouch

huh

Is the seat the black thing you sit on for water breaks? Mine has got a little softer, but the nut buster zone is there and waiting.

I honestly don't sit on mine much at all either but, I brought mine in the house to dry it out after one particularly deep powder day. After it dryed by the wood stove for a day or two I set it on the floor and walked on it for 10 minutes. Then my kids walked on it (I made sure there was no jumping) and now the seat is still firm but, actually a whole lot more comfortable. I think I'll give the seat one more dose of this and it should be just right.

By the way, I heard Boss is dropping the retail price of their seat next year to $399.

then maybe i can find an affordable used boss seat, now guys still want $500 for a seat thats been used for a year, and $400 for a used seat with tears in it!

Ya they are pretty stiff when new and they stay stiff for a while, its probably a good thing though it will last longer i hope. I usually stand most of the time as well and though the seat is stiff its still a big improvement over stock, haven't got my nuts busted yet knock on wood. If you ride on the trails lots or sit down lots i would think about the 2010 seat its softer but i think it will wear faster, but i find the m is rode best standing anyways. JMT

I have last years boss seat on my m9 and it is way softer than my 09 boss seat on my 1000. But I actually dont mind that seat I cant tell how hard it is. It may have softened up a lil but not much. And especially I love the amount of storage space in the back. How many seats do you know that hold 2 gatorade a tool kit 2 belts and full length AC jacket? Keepin it yessiree...................

If that true that would be assume!! I love my Boss seat and the wife needs a new seat on her M8!

I was wondering if all of you folks that have the 09 Boss seat have problems keeping anything dry in the storage area? Nothing stays dry in my Boss seat storage area. Also mine is still hard as nails after 1000 miles of trail riding(mostly sitting).

Mine is still rock hard! I love the weight savings, but still is hard and things get wet in mine all the time.

I will trade someone a boss from 2008 that came off a M8 with 500 miles. I like the harder seat.
