2009 600 ski shocks

So I noticed the other day that one of my front (ski) shocks on my 09 shift RMK 600 155 is bent. :face-icon-small-fro I am looking at Polaris part #7042258 as a replacement. It looks like these came on the older (05-07 non RAW) IQ sleds. My question is; Will my springs/retainers/adjusters fit on these shocks? And if so is there any reason not to get them? (IE they are pieces of crap, you will hate them etc.) I can get them brand new for $75 each which is why I am considering them. Thanks for the help.

If my search is correct the shock you speak of (7042258) is from an 05 or 06 700/900 Fusion. The shock measures 11.8" x 18", which is probably too long for your needs - better check it out. The Fusion has a 42.5" ski width vs. the RMK with 40". My experiance with shocks is that you need springs and spring retainer clips for the shock in question. If the shock length works, then spacers, bolt sizes, etc will need to be fit up.

A lot of people including myself have upgraded there 07 IQ RMK's to the Walker Evans shocks off a 08 + rmk or dragon. Look around the classifieds and you will probably find a set.

I would not buy the stock shocks again in my life, unless only to get me by while the new ones are in transit. After getting my Floats, they are sick! Set them once all winter and you are done.
