2009-2010 Mt Baker Conditions

I've been lookin around the other states forums and I like how all the riding areas are sticky's at the top it makes it nice when looking for an update on conditions, so you don't have to search through a bunch of threads, So Lets do this for the most popular riding areas in Washington Feel free to start one of your favorite riding area.

So moderator can we please make this a sticky, just seeing if any one had rode baker the last few days and what the conditions were looks like the snow level will hopefully go back down in the next couple of days.

The forum used to be all lumped together with minimal sub catagories. Then it was a real pain to findsomething. Some liked it that way and others did not.
However..if you tried a sticky on just WA or just Baker..it wouldnt take three posts before someone started posting not pertinent information. Before long the thread gets hijacked with some other non related crapola..in the end you will still have to wade thru it..but I do see your point.

A couple of us rode Baker yesterday. Trail was groomed and parking was at the third switchback. Weather was good all day and there was about 8" of new ontop of about a foot of heavier powder. So over all it was a great day.

A few pics from 12-23. Was socked in until about 1 PM, then it cleared up nicely. Not alot of fresh, as you can see from some of the pics, but still a pretty good day. Short ride back was nice as the parking was so far up the hill.

Not to hijack the thread, but nice pic's there newtrout. Gravy was driving around NBend with a 10 mile smile today... probably something to do with that loser Fordy not being able to make it up with you guys.

How far is this good riding from ellensburg. I just moved to washington from Idaho so I'm pretty unaware of the area.

I'm guessing its about 200 miles from E-burg to Baker. So probably about 3.5 to 4 hours. Depending on what time you go through King and Snohomish counties.

whats the best (or one of the better) places to ride in nw wash. snowboarded baker my whole life but never sledded there. is the loading area a far drive from glacier? i've always wanted to try sledding there but don't know if the border hassle is worth it. riding comparable to the whistler area? thanks for the help guys.
