2008 xp 500ss

I do alot of river riding and lake riding as well as trail riding. Had someone offer me a 500ss and was wondering what the goods and bads are about them? Ive heard they have a low top end. What mods can be done to get more top end out of it? Any other suggestions?

It has the doo 600 carb motor in it that they came out with in 99. Its a great little motor and I think has about 108hp, which is about 10hp less than the 600sdi. At 399lbs dry its the lightest sled on the market. I think it would be a badazz little sled, and a whole bunch of fun. Do the RKT 662 big bore on that sucker and it will really scream.

my mechanic has an ss in a rev chassis. he did nothing but put a 136 rip saw track under it. i told him i wanted to ride it. ive never been more impressed with a sled. the badge says 500 so your not expecting, well anything. BUT it delivered in full! mind you i ride 800s and bigger, i had just got off my 146 xp with full exhaust and clutch kit that would stand wheelies and was still baffled as to what he did to make his run so strong.

thanks for the input guys...i am gona see what i can work out on this sled. i wont have alot of money left over for mods right away but in time hopefully. the big bore kit sounds like a sweet deal
