Pretty sure the ski area is considered motorized, just with restrictions on the type of use. Those hills don't groom themselves. As of April 30, the snowcat skiing area was open to sleds riding off trail, so maybe the ski area is too. Depends when the contract runs out? The whole "non-motorized" thing up there is goofy and vague. Basically, if it supports skiing then motors are OK kind of thing. I've never heard of any tickets or fines actually being levied against sledders. It's more of a courtesy thing I think. That said, we let them have there side of the mountain and we stick to ours.
If you do ride to the top of Mt warner (the ski hill) the non-motorized boundary ends on the east side of the peak. We rode up from the east side within a 1/4 mile one day.
A piston showed up on the ups truck yesterday, so time to get busy. I'll be up there tonight with my offering to the snow gods. Snowing pretty good here at glacier view now.
