I pulled the cover off to change my gears when cleaning it out i found brass shavings there is only one piece i never removed and that is the output shaft is the thrust washer back there brass?

Theres brass or copper... cant recall, that shim the small gears on the outer ring of the planitary gear ring. That is all that i recall seeing in there.
Ya i will have to pull it apart the parts pick i have doesnt show a break down of the planetarys but now is the time to do it thanks
Your plant is trashed. Call Black diamond and they will hook you up, about $175 and a few bucks for the bearing. Don't go to the local cat dealer they will try to sell you the hole assembly, $350. I bought a bearing puller from the parts store and you will need to press the bearing back on. Not a big deal.

I have about 1700 miles this would have been my 3rd oil change so about every 500 or so.This sucks if i have to replace the whole planetary if i knew that i wouldnt have changed my gears i would have got rid of reverse and went to the DD light
Ya sure enough 2 out of the 5 planetary gears are missing the brass shims/washers...........Great but i guess better to find it now instead of have it pile up out on the hill
Good catch on that one! Go with a BDX lite and never worry again.
Thanks I would like to go to the BDX lite but didnt want to get rid of reverse its a back saver i ordered a new planetary assembly from BDX now just waiting
BDX is great to deal with, had my parts in a couple days.
Yes i have had good luck with them aswell they were busy and hard to get ahold of sometimes but thats the way it is and worth the wait
