I know this isn't the slp set up... i don't know if you are dead set on slp or not... i don't know anything about the slp myself but my dads old sled (08 m1000) now my spare sled... has a speedwerx single pipe and can with boondocker fuel controller on it and it runs like a charm... I would however recommend putting on an Air Fuel ratio gauge just to make sure you aren't running a lean condition... ex. if you have it tuned on a day that you have miniman fresh snow and then you ride in a 3 or 4 foot powder day... you may need to increase your fuel req's because the engine will be working harder... at least thats what I found... also going from flat land to mountain elevations you will need to remap your boondocker box... super easy to run once you get your hands on it tho.
thats my 2 cents. I am sure the slp set up is just as reliable. With any mod like that it is worth the extra bucks to have an A/F guage and then you will have a hard time blowing it up as long as you don't run it lean.

I ran it on a 07 m1000, went 800miles and burned down. I think it was a combination of heavy powder and bad gas, just a little to lean to be hold the throttle down that long, but it ripped up til then. put it on my 09 and bought koso egts, never had a problem, and rips. the slp clutch setup is much better than AC but I think there is more to get out of clutching, maybe just need to add more motor mounts.
I learned the hard way($250.00 egt that would have saved me $1200), The only way I would recommend it is with egts, A/F gauges can be confusing sometimes but either way get something. I ran the egts on my 09 with stock pipe got some readings and then set it up to run the same with pipe.

As stated above, an EGT is very valuable for tuning. We have good settings for the SLP and Speedwerx singles for the Boondocker box. I have also been playing with the PowerCommander for just over a year and it flat works. We can download the preset program into the PCIII and you just plug it in and ride. It works really nice and has a lot of resolution that many of the other controllers do not have.
