EDIT 3/2/2011: Sold!
2008 Yamaha FX Nytro MTX w/ reverse (~2,500 miles)
* Impulse turbo kit with 2860RS Garrett turbo
* head shim
* high horse-power fuel kit (fuel pump, regulator, surge tank)
* larger injectors (450cc)
* Pure Logic fuel controller
* fuel pressure guage
* Prologger guage and guage mount
* Supertip adjustable weights
* Shockwave adjustable helix
* Timbersled Mountain Tamer (rear)
* 162" Ice Age rails (straight)
* 162"x16"x2.5" Challenger Extreme (ported with a 2-1 pattern)
* Avid 3 pitch extro drivers
* scratchers
I purchased this snowmobile directly from Paul (Impulse) April 25th 2008 with ~700 miles on the sled.
It was built and setup by Paul with all of the above mods at the time.
I have since done/added the following:
* MODS skis
* PowerMadd universal pivot adapter
* Better Boards (powder coated black)
* Barkbuster front end
* oilite front end bushings
* Fox Float2 front shocks
* 19 tooth top gear
* YUASA YTZ7s battery (light weight)
* parking brake removed
* OFT 3 (center) wheel axle kit with (3) three 8" wheels
* 2009 subframe (which has added reinforcement vs 2008 subfame)
* custom venting on clutch side and on top of turbo
* all stock vents have been meshed/screened
* headlight delete w/ custom venting
* repaired/welded leaky oil tank issue (that a lot of the 08 Nytros tend to have) [see pic]
* custom "nerf bar" around the oil tank (to keep weight off the oil tank)
* Impulse rider forward kit
* Impulse gas rack
Oil and filter changed each season with Mobil 1 0w-30 Synthetic.
Plugs changed @ ~1500 miles. For peace of mind, not due to necessity nor issues.
A few of the issues in its current state:
- Bent/tweaked front bumper. Hardly noticeable. [$126 for stock bumper]
- Cracked lower clutch side plastic (its been repaired w/ zip ties/wire & glue). It does not allow any snow to get through, nor cause any belt slip problems. [$56]
- Bent/tweaked RH upper a-arm. This happened when attempting to straighten the stock (original) subframe. [$140(?)]
- Straightened rear tunnel extension. Took a ski/hit from behind and bent the extension only, the tunnel itself is unaffected. The extension was straightened.
- A/F sensor failing, giving incorrect A/F readings at times. [$75-100]
Absolutely zero engine or drive train related issues, ever.
I ran this at 12# of boost when I was living/riding in Colorado (10k ft plus), I'm currently running at 10# of boost in Montana (aprox 5-7k ft).
91 octane pump gas.
And I was told this was conservative.
This kit (with current engine internals) will run up to 17# on AV or race fuel, and more if pistons rods were to be upgraded.
Its been weighed on a hanging digital scale @ 615.5 lbs, full of fuel (holds ~ 10 gallons), ready to ride.
Simple, pump gas, turn-key turbo. Pull trigger, hang on, and !
$10,750 USD / Offer EDIT 3/2/2011: Sold!
Also would consider trade for a stockish 2011 M8 or 2011 RMK 800 (Pro or Std).
