I have an 09 2500 Mega (11/08 build date) and have nearly all positive things to say about the vehicle. I believe, as has been stated above, that the newer flashes have helped the problems that plagued many of the earlier 07.5-08 models.
I have recently done all of the deletes after running several thousand miles stock to see if there would be a sign for an impending warranty claim. Hopefully removing the emissions garbage will increase mileage and longevity. It is far to early to tell what my mileage will settle at.....I have been enjoying the extra power by pushing the skinny pedal a lot more than I used to!
Bone stock, EGR plugged in, running empty I would see 17-18 mpg highway. Depending on what I was towing mileage would drop as low as 10-11.
FWIW, you can simply unplug the EGR connector thereby disabling it from working. This will cause a CEL but will not void the warranty and not pump a bunch of soot through your engine. Most claim 1-3 mpg increase by doing this. Before taking it to the dealer simply plug it back in for a couple of starts and the CEL will clear itself.
Check out www.cumminsforum.com for all the info that you can process on these vehicles.
Good luck in your search!
