Getting my wifes sled ready and I want to take the pillow like vents out of the dash. Any opinons on what route to go for replacements? I know somebody will sure have a opinion on what to do so lets hear and see some choices.
Thanks

SLP makes nice replacements. Easy to replace, all you need a drill, 3/16 drill bit, and a rivet gun. The directions don't say anything about it, but I recommend a bead of silicone around the outer edge of them. I found they didn't sit as flush and flat on the surface as I'd like to have seen. Few taps with a hammer made it nicer, so just required a little silicone to fill the gap.

the SLP ones are a minimum...Fire N Ice makes a very nice "Combo" set..it replaces the stock foam one, and also has a vent for the side of the dash...

tried to get the link for yuo but they are not on the website for some reason?

If you go with the SLP vents the 08 shift you will require you to remove the raised plastic that holds the "vent pad" with a utility knife or a dremel tool. Drill/rivet/loveit and you're done.

I believe you do not need to cut or dremel anything.........the plastic piece the Polaris kotex pops into "snaps" into the dash.

Just unsnap and install the SLP vents

Correct the "foam holder" just snaps in.

SLP also has a dash vent kit now. Wish they did when I bought my intake stuff. I installed a flow-rite in that location.
I must say, after going over my sled, these intake kits are only mildly effective. The air plenum seals like crap. There is a huge gap at each side of the headlight and multiple other places I found. I didn't have time to disassemble and really investigate but I think it will take entire dash dis-assembly to seal it all up.

Yes I thought the SLP one was too small also and the kit they offer with the extra flowrites does not fit my taste. Looks tacky to me. But if anyone has a photo of this kit please post them I would like to see the set up.

Thanks guys :face-icon-small-hap

mine blew off in the wind i ride deep powder all the time and have never had a problem and there are no vents if you ask me they are just a gimic . P.S ILOVE MY SHIFT ITS THE BEST TOY EVER :D:D:D

They are the only filter your engine has. There is no air filter in the box. You are allowing powder to suck into your engine all day long. Really not cool.

TImbersled makes some awesome intakes... Theirs actually gives you a filter to potect your engine from ingesting all the snow and contaminents that can get through all of these opened up intake vents.

Thats the set-up I am planning on running!

dash vents

Fire and Ice has nice vents that will give you 3 times the stock area. Ihave them on my rmk 600 07. There is a picture on there web sight. good luck:rolleyes:

wow timbersled is proud of that intake kit........and fire and ice no longer makes the vents for the older IQ. I really like the timbersled setup myself but can't spend that much.
