well, believe it or not, i found an 07 935cc raw chassis.

this is the real thing, and the guy knws it. he has a few buyers lined up on it already...was hoping he would have it still in a few weeks when i go home to billings to check it out in person.

but blew my mind...but its the real deal...i talked to him, hoping to get more pics of it soon, just to share.

lol,

nope the 07 935cc was suppose to be released in 07, but they couldnt get rid of the vibrations in the chassis so they scraped them.

i talked to the guy selling this one, and this sled was the personal sled of the lead engineer on the 935 development. after they scraped the other sleds, he used some of the parts an built his own. and this guy bought it from him.

he is gonna try and shoot me some pics from under the hood and whatnot. but if it doesnt sell in the next month, i should be able to check it out in person...

just like to see it and maybe take a spin on it if its there...PRAY FOR ME, lol.

Sean... It's been in the Swapmeet here on SW since Mid October.

They are nice sleds... I have one... Works pretty well...

They are not Polaris Factory "Validation" sleds... but rather handbuilds from parts...

Hardest part about owning this motor... NO replacement pistons available (Austrian Elko)... OUCH!

Damn them, They need to realize we don't care about a little vibration. If my 900 ever breaks and I can not fix it or replace it with another 900 I am going to switch brands unless they pull their head out and get another 900 or 1000 motor in their sleds.

Unfortunately... Intentional 900 owners are a very, very small minority of the sledding world.

There's always the M1000 then. There are not many Polaris 900 or 1000 owners because Polaris dropped the ball on development. If they had a smooth running 1000 cc Dragon next year people would be lined up to get them.

Wonder if cat will try to put their 1000 in their new chassis that I suspect we will see in the next year or so.

935 polaris

I talked to Jeff today the owner of the sled! very nice guy this is a factory 935 and on of ten sled still out there he will send me more pic when he gets a chance. :face-icon-small-hap

I agree with Ghostwhite, interesting. I bought my sled brand new 1st year, I didn't realize Snowest existed for years (forums), so I fixed things myself in my own fashion, which I think was good in lots of ways. My friends and I always do our own work, not that the dealership is bad, but hey..we're talkin sleds here/good times! For some reason a verse from Kid Rock comes to mind, from song Roll On, and I quote....."I wanted this & now it's here-so I don't bitch". It's pretty easy to start thinking the other guy has something better, you're better off liking what you have. There's a most excellent video in mountain/deep powder section with a nod to BossRev, great to clear the mind! Keep snowin'!

I am right there with you SW. I signed up for this forum 3 years ago and never realized there was a 900 forum till just a few months ago. I spent a whole lot of time figuring out how to make things work that the guys on here had already got dialed in. I bought mine brand new, I wish I had found this forum sooner.

I have a question on the 935. What exactly is this engine? a bored out 900? How do you get pistons and rings for it if it never went into production? Would you have to change out the cylinders to 866 cc ones to rebuild it and use the 06 900 pistons? Or have special pistons made? I had a set made by JE pistons to spec once and that was big money.

The motor is an stock stroke, bored 900 CFi-2 running the 2006 8-Bar fuel pressure and custom porting work on 2005 cylinders... 2006 bottom end and fuel rail with the 2 upper injectors deleted. The 935's run a custom map that is no longer available.

The motors made similar power to the SLP 2006 performance edition kits (pipe/Y/can, head, reeds, airbox) and both ran on pump premium.

The larger bore of the 935 and resultant heavier pistons seem to smooth out the vibes a bit.

Same motor mounting arrangement as the 2006's

Pistons are not available... So, unless you have replacements... you will need to go back to 2006 Pistons and Cylinders, put back in the 2006 4 injector rails with 4 injectors and run the 2006 ECU/SLP-pipe flash.

Not to start a kicking-match...all of the Factory test "validation" 2007 900 RMK's were either destroyed or are sitting in the Polaris yard.... There were some made from parts etc that were left over from the protos but none of them left the factory assembled and ended up in the consumers hands.

Most were set up identical to a 2007 Dragon with Walker Evans air shocks, SLP 2006 pipe/y/can, Slp air box, dragon rear suspension/rails, 2006 bulkhead mated to a 2007 tunnel, 2007 Dragon series 5.0 track two ply track, with custom steering hoop, custom steering post/bearings, TSS-04 secondary, and all of the Dragon trimmings... This one has a cool IQ trail hood on it. Some had the newer 32mm cranks, others had the previous model year 30mm cranks. The air intakes and motor mounting system were different in the protos than shown on this sled.

Nice sleds they ran very well.

its a nice looking sled to bad polaris didnt release it. couldnt they have changed the motor mounts to a differant style and try and remove the vibrations? also i bet they were having so much problems with the other 900s at the time that they just said fcuk it. its to bad, be cool to have one, but kinda useless at the same time. id be to scared to drive it incase it blew up lol.

And really if you think about it, how many poeple own high hp sleds? or sleds at all? a few thousand? most have like 600-800 im sure theres not a huge market for 900-1000cc sleds. so why would they spend the money on developing it, if there only gonna sell a few thousand? ya know thats just how i seen it. better to spend money on a sled that poeple will buy, then money on one only a few will buy.

I disagree, people will buy the 900 if Polaris can make one that works. If you are looking at the number of people who would buy them look also at mountain sleds. I would bet they sell way more trail sleds so why bother to make an RMK using your reasoning. Arctic cat makes one and it works. Everywhere you look now there are turbo systems for sale for these new 700 and 800 sleds, WHY? because people want more power out of their sleds!!! If the factory made a good 900 or 1000 that ran and didn't have the issues these sleds had it would be a hell of a lot cheaper to buy one then to get a 700 or 800 and then have to dump 6000 on a turbo system so it can make the power people want in a mountain sled.

ya i guess so, i dunno why they dont build a bigger cc engine. cat has one but ski-doo doesnt nor does polaris. oh well i dont think im gonna ever sell my 900, its cheaper for me to keep it and add mods then buy a new sled anyways. plus i love it when my old 900 beats the new sleds hahah.

I'm right there with you. Mine gets better and better every year. Next year I will have a 3 year warranty on my engine when it gets back from IndyDan. How can you beet that? I personally would rather have a bigger engine and not need a turbo. Turbo shortens the life of you engine and and cost you more to run.

Dang dude, now I REALLY want one:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-sad

If the 935 vibrates less than our 900s, how could they complain about too much vibration in a HIGHER powered sled?

Heck... the 1140's vibrated even less... with the same motor mounts.

BTW... the BEST 900 is still a buzz box... but so are Harleys... comes with the territory IMO.
