I am starting to install a silber turbo kit on my 2007 d7 and want to upgrade the drivers to a 2008 model with the center extrovert. Can I just order one extravert and do this or what is my best bet because polaris only will sell me the whole shaft for 600 bucks.

Dont waste your time... many people are actually cutting out that center extrovert as it can cause more probs than it is worth..

If you want a TRUE upgrade... get the new style Avid Combo drivers and be done with it.

im thinkin about runnin stock drivers on my sled with a d8 silber turbo because i am going back to school and trying to do this as cheap as i can for this season (ya ya ya i know cheap and turbos dont go together) but i barely have enough for a turbo so i think im gunna try and run the stock drivers for now. anyone else ran them?

Lots of people run them stock...I just dont beleive that ADDING the center is worth the effort.

I did not know people were having troubles with the center driver. I have ratched mine when I had my nitrous, it was my own fault because the track was not tight enough. But I am hearing that to put normal extroverts on the sled I have to cut my rails, witch I don't want to do unless I have to.

Dont sweat cutting the rails back a bit...

Add an Anti stab kit just for good measure and easier track rolling.

track drives

i have an 07 d7 with turbo also and i went with the avid drivers with an anti stab wheel kit. the drivers were a pain to press on compared to the old hex shaft style

I have same setup as you, minus anti stab kit. When i finished up my rails I put the skid back in, and in my opion the extros are so close to the rail tips that anti stab isn't necessary.

I also agree with you that the old hex style was much much easier to install.

Adam get ahold of reggie at highmark in boise and ask him if he has any new take off's of projects they are working on. I bought 3 drivers from him last year for $75 total price.

adam5187, I really suggest that you reread and follow the advice mtnhorse gave in his first post.

When the 800's first came out, there was post after post of ppl complaining about the center driver.

Update to the solid shaft with Avid's. Its gonna cost a bit but well worth the effort.
