2007 Belt exploded yesterday??

I have a 2007 rev 800r that has been updated with the clutch recall. Yesterday the belt exploded with riding in the deep powder snow. The belt had only 50 miles on it. What do you think??

IMO its not tuned right. Your clutches looks to be slipping and creating alot of heat, destroying the belt. The update doesn't fix the poorly tuned clutch that came on them.

I don't know how to tune a clutch, who should I ask for help. I assumed the dealer would have done that? Thanks for your help

Well, most dealers are idiots and don't know either. They take them apart and put them together and thats about it. I rode with 2 800rs yesterday and they seem to work good. I ride a 07 but I have a HO BB in it and run a TRA 3.

I would go buy a clutch puller and button retainers and yank it off and clean it. Take apart and make sure the bushings aren't stuck and rollers flattened.

You can learn it fairly quick. Find outs what in there and people can help.

Sno shark, take the small vent on the side of the plastic and cover it up until you go buy some material to cover it. When you go through the powder especially boondocking the powder comes through and gets on your clutches then they slip and your pinning it and the rubber gets super hot while it kicks in to grab. That is the rubbery mess around your clutches.

You can go to linen and things and get a fabric curtain that is just like the sock bRP used to go over the filter. Buy one, $20 buck cover all your intakes on the hood and every where else with this. I then put 4 1 1/4 inch holes in the front of my left side then 8 out the back and covered them with the curtain mess which is super fine and then placed screen door material over that to make it strong....air comes in keeping everything cool and no snow....use 5 minute epoxy to do it....this is of course after you have had all the updates. My 07 rev was slippin after the updates on the first day when i got it and when I would open the side there would be snow building up in there...went home did above work and it has ripped ever since...hope that helps...dave
