2007 800r cylinder reinstall

Can one put a new monoblock back in while the lower end is in the machine. Or is it easier to pull the whole motor? It was pretty tight pulling it out. Or is there an easier way to go about all this? It is an 09 800r if that matters.

thanks

So I'm a little confused. What year sled? Title says 07. Post says 09 and is in rev 4m.
Either way it is easy to do in the sled. Just slightly different process.

On the revs I remove the y pipe, raves and reeds.

I personally prefer installing with the y pipe on and the raves & reeds off. The y pipe gives you something to hang on to...is helps to remove the metal brace connecting the nun and pyramid frame piece and remove the 2 13mm bolts holding the steering post so you can pull that outta the way. With the mag side piston slight higher i start with that side then move to the pto cylinder.

Hope you can find some help in that

If I could thank you twice I would. Hopefully that makes it smoothly :face-icon-small-hap go back together.

:hail: thanks again

No problem chief...be sure your rings aren't upside down and the gap is on the intake side...40 ft lbs on the cylinder, 21 on the head and 18/19 on the knock sensor. WD-40 will be your friend, it helps to spray the bolt threads to prevent them from binding and a little shot on the upper coolant hose will help getting it up between the intake and a little on the inlet of the head will help that slide on.

Hope that makes sense and that it it goes well.

Did my buddys 07 this year its the mono motor also we got it in complete with clutch and everything on but Y pipe, we removed it light that also. But stated above i would remove the reed/intake boot. We left ours cause we were in a bind and didn't think we were going to be pulling a motor to change a stator.
