2007 800 REV Throttle Sticking

Has anyone heard of the throttle sticking on these sleds? A recent ride resulted in serious injury for an experienced sledder. The sled became airborne and was out of control. When the rider was ejected from the sled, the sled kept going for another 150 feet. Any info would be great.

Most likely iced up and caused the throttle to not return properly. Probably got kinked in the process and then stuck open when he hammered it as the kink wouldnt allow it to return. Run the carb heaters if icing was the issue and the throttle hasnt already been kinked, should solve your issues.

It's why I keep that DESS tether secured to my wrist at ALL times....it is your throttle safety switch on a Doo.

Try your carburator warmer, works for me........
It only happens on insane deep snow+cold days(10F or colder)

Yes mine also stuck/froze wide open......pretty freaky when it happened, though tether saved a pile up.....I ran the carb heater after that though it wasnt all that cold -8 , the snow was very light and deep, lots gets under hood It didnt freeze up again that day.

I have a 2007 Summit 800r. I had my throttle stick about 10 times today. So many times I had one finger on the brake at all times. I understand the 3 tether will kill the engine but that means you have to fall off for it to work so anything can happen in a split second. Today the weather was probably 15 deg and snowing very hard. Was in about 3-4 feet of fresh snow ( by far most snow ive been in this winter ) Turned the carb heaters on and seemed to help but still stuck a few times it on. I think whoever said that heavy snow building up around the throttle may be on to something. My throttle has not stuck all winter and the first day im in a crap load of fresh pow it sticks. I have to admit im a little nervous as these sleds do 0-60 in probably 3-4 seconds.

Side note. Alaska lost two great guys on Turnagain last night due to a large avy and conditions are terrible for avy's right now so please wear your beacons, shovel and probes everywhere !! Also please dont take this the wrong way but we enjoy a dangerous sport and people do die from it. I took out a 750,000 life insurance policy "just incase " I have a real fear of being trapped in an avy and living for 20 min under snow thinking about how my girlfriend is going to take care of our 2 year old daughter and how is she going to afford college being that im the bread winner of my family. I guess knowing that they will be taking care of would give me some peace of mind if it were to ever happen.

Sorry for getting off the topic but these two guys that just passed away are on my mind and I think they both had small kids at home. Please make sure your family is taking care of if something god for bid were to ever happen to YOU !!
