2006 rmk 900. wont rev up - PLZ HELP

so my 2006 polaris rmk 900 has been at the dealer for about a month now.:face-icon-small-fro it will idle ( sort of ) takes 2-5 pulls everytime to start even once warmed up, stalls when u put it in reverse about 50% of the time. and if u give it anymore than about 50% throttle it bogs down and dies just like someone hit the kill switch. polaris has changed the throttle position sensor and set it, changed the throttle cables because the oil pump cable was getting worn. and have checked the sensors and they all check out. cannot get it over about 5000 rpm, and seems to be worse when warm, was told by a post on snowmobile forum that some guys here really knew the 900 motor well and thot i'd give it a try because the dealer said they are out of ideas. also wondering if anyone can identify what brand of can i have if i post a pic ( never seen one like it ) and the dealer wanted to know so they can re-flash with the specs from it. any help would be great.

By all means.... post a pic of the can, someone should be able to ID it.

As for your running problem, sounds like a wiring glitch to me.
Does it flash any codes?
Was the TPS pigtail replaced as well? these are known to be problematic.
How do the spark plugs look?

the plugs look good, dunno i'd assume they changed the pigtail cuz i told them that i heard of that problem when i took it, i'll call them tomorrow and ask. when i figure out how to post a pic of it i will forsure.

Welcome to the forum!:beer;

Just taking a guess here, but have they verified fuel pressure? If the TPS system has been verified good and spark/stator output have been verified good then I would think checking the fuel system would be the next step. Have you put on a new fuel filter? That can cause inadequate fuel supply/bog/lean condition if plugged. If fuel pressure comes back good (58 PSI for 05, 116 PSI for 06), then it may be time to pull the injectors and have them flow tested for proper output.

Has the fuel float recall been performed? Any debris in the tank (including rotted fuel lines) could have been sucked into the pump/filter and be causing a blockage, another idea to check if it hasn't been already.

I know someone here can nail down your problem, there are lots of guys here who are very knowledgeable on the 900s and how to make them run right.

Post up a pic of your can, and we'll find out. Also, I am curious why they would want to reflash for a can.... only the SLP pipe requires a reflash, cans only change sound/weight:confused:

that is a cpi pipe and can

as 94fordguy said i would start by checking fuel pressure yours is an 06 so it should be 116 psi, there is a fuel test port on the fuel line that fastens to the head it looks like a tire valve stem. you can get a fuel pressure tester at most parts stores, it is the same test port that ford cars and trucks use.

also pull the fuel filter off and try to blow through it to see if it is plugged, i would just replace it if it has any miles on it. i replace mine once a year. let us know the results and we can help more.

Do not let them change the flash on your ecu...the CPI pipe and can run on the stock flash..

The ecu has a decal on it that needs to match the color of injectors too..either red/blue/yellow

Wiring/stator/fuel issue
