2006 Polaris Steering

I have an 06 polaris 600 rmk and the steering on it is unbelievably hard. Whats the best way to lighten the ski pressure? Or is something to do with the stupid adjustable steering post on this year?
Thanks

Most of your problem is probably from the spindles. They were poorly designed that year. Try finding some 07-10 spindles to replace them with. 09-10 are better but 07-08 work ok. I think there was a thread on here about using pro spindles too.

^^^^^^^^^^^X 2 on the newer spindles^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Steering fix
-newer spindles and set ski alignment
-make sure you have the front track shock mounted in upper hole (not lower hole)
-install the 225lb front track spring to remove some of the front end pressure

Adjustable steering fix
-send a PM to POLZIN on the forum, he will set you up with a rider select delete kit (best and only one avail), click link to see more info

Also, make sure that the block-and-pin joint isn't seized on the steering shaft. If it is seized, there is NO WAY of taking it apart and loosening it, you may need a new steering shaft. If the block-and-pin joint is good, all of the above comments work very, very well!!!!

updating to 07 skis and newer spindles like an 09 really help the steering problems. I also went with the heavier spring on the front rail shock. world of difference.

Thanks for the info, I am the 2nd owner of this sled. is there a way to tell if the spindles are original, or if they have already been upgraded.
Is the 225# spring a polaris part?
Thanks!

compare your sled to pics online (use google is the fastest) or post a pic online here. very easy task to do yourself.

the Polaris spring is OEM for other models. just use the search on here man...you will knw if you have it already cause the oem shock cover is super tight on the original spring, and the 225lb spring is much skinner and the cover is loose fitting
