2006 600 HO - Max RPM

My sled 2006 RMK 600 HO with 144 X 1.25 Track, Gearing at 22:39, 10-60 Primary Weights with EPI Yellow Spring 165/310.

My max RPM is showing 8450, should I be concerned with this and would I be better to add weight to my Primary say 10-62's or add a tooth to my top gear 23:39 to try and pull max RPM down?

Should mention rider weight is 260 lbs with gear.

Gonna smoke your belts trying to gear way high like that especially with your weight. Run it by what is displayed when running full throttle. Max rpm is momentarily with a bit of slip. Gear down and run 62's.

I was hitting 8400-8500 yesterday on my maiden voyage with my 600RR (600 H.O.). That seems about right to me. I was very impressed with the power coming off of my D8. Not sure what the clutching is, although I would assume it is the stock stuff.

Spec is 8100 rpm +/- 200 rpm. What I have found is the engine will hit 8000-8100 in the first part of a pull, then creep up to 8200-8300 by the end due to the heat in the pipe, the 600's like a hot pipe.

I would go to 62 gram weights, gearing should be ok with the 1.25" track 22/39 is stock switchback gearing.
