2005 rev seems really hard to steer

my 205 rev seems really hard to steer. even on my floor its hard.
have a 8inch riser with straight bars, would that have something to do with it?

or is it because im also comparing it with a 2012 pro rmk?

A couple of things come to mind.

First, Comparing an 05 with any of the newer Mt Sleds is like comparing your grandmother to a 20 year old girlfriend. While there both nice, it doesn't take long to figure out which one you want to ride. :face-icon-small-hap

Second, Do the steering forward mod then align the bars with the column, this will help offset the cammed steering swing that is inherent due to the way the steering column is made.

Third, The 05-07's tended to ride on the toes of the skis. By removing the ski's and placing a solid piece of block at the rear of the cradle that holds the rubber foot. It will now change the contact point more towards the rear and therefore allow a little easier steering.

Not so quick, My 07 steers feather lite... there soo much in shock setup, skid setup, Skis are huge in steering and carbide location. The Reason the new sleds steer soo easy[ Remember its the same basic XP chassis that was a tank} is due to less ski pressure and skid setup, narrow stance and rear skid. we have both here.. let out limiter strap, add front ski shox preload. reduce front shox preload for starters.

Byeatts, I dont disagree with you, aside from my smarta#$ remark in the first thing, I like you am just giving him somethings to look for. There is a lot of things that can be causing it. Steering relocate and getting the pressure off the toes of the skis makes a huge difference along with various other things including what you suggested.

no worries, I can actually turn lock to lock with my pinky on concrete. Its really all poor setup and a bit of the model. The new sleds do have the whole skid lower in the chassis so your comment has Merit.. My 07 is totally altered with extended belt drive for 3 inch, skid is lowered one inch.although The stock 06 is feather lite as well with adjustments. The stock 05 skis had offset carbides and causes issues as well.

Curouis. What skis are you running.

thanks for all the help guys!! love the first comment! I think I can use that in my everyday!

Also can you guys give me any direction of what I could do? this is a newer sled for me so I'm not 100% on everything with it yet.

thanks

best suggestion is get the sled on the sno with an Experienced tuner, a veteran, Its likely the pre owner has totally jacked up the settings as most start turning stuff and have no idea what their doing.90% of pre owned sleds are set up wrong. And dump the 05 ski. It was the worst Doo ski in 10 years and poorly designed. You will learn a great deal during this test ride.
