Just have a few questions my body is selling a 2005 ski-doo 1000 2 stroke with a ton of extras one it he says about $4000.00 worth of just extras. He says he will sell it to me for $6000.00. I am a 2 year rider on a ac m-6 is this a good sled for me to move to or is it to much I am a intermediate rider and am 6' 2" and 280 lbs. Any pointers or opinions would be great. Thanks

You never get out what you put into a sled. There are a lot of other sleds out there with way less miles. I am so surpirsed at all the 3 to 4 year old sleds with under 1000 miles on them, go after one of them. I'm selling my 05 summit 800 144 with 2700 miles and I'll be happy to get $4800.00. People are to proud of their sleds just bucause it has all the aftermarket goodies. I wouldn't pay over $5,000 for it.

It's a Big Powerful sled with a completely different feel then an M sled. It will take some time to get the feel for it. If it's a runner and at your size you will be able to throw it around with ease.

Is that 3000k miles on the original motor? Its an Awesome power plant when setup correctly.

What's the list of extras?

list off the mods, and is it the original motor?

thos 05s are known to be a pain, but if somebody has one with 3k on it, it must be pretty dang solid runner, most gave up way before 1000 miles. there definately a big chassis gap coming from the M, but I at 165 with gear on can work the RT with a but if work, you should have no problem. the things have crazy power, they just need to run right!

If you want more power buy m1000 if you want to buy Doo take rev 800.Stay away from rt they are pigs compare to rev or m chassi I had one in 2005 trade in 2 month later for rev800 with huge loss.Thats why brp buried them.R.I.P. great RT.:D

I've had my 06 since new. It has less than 700 miles on it and a ton of goodies. Pipes, Innovate XD16 O2 setup, Clutching, Boondocker box, Billet wheels, scratchers, 20:51 gearing, R&M vents, Lefty, Everything removed or gutted that can be. She is twenty or more pounds lighter than stock with a lot more power and zero issues to date except a pinhole leak in the tunnel cooler. Lots of money invested. I would love to see 7 for it but its very unlikely. It still rips on a lot of sleds

I have had 2 Rt 1000 sleds and IMO they are probably the best sled ever manufactured, with your size you will be able to handle this thing like a baby. The peoploe who bought these sleds and didnt like them or couldnt handle them is because they have such a power curve and they are heavier than an 800. Ski doo didnt shelve the 1000, just the RT because the market wasnt big enough to keep manufacturing. the price seems a little high, but if it has tone of extras not too far off
