2004 Summit Rev hyfax replace question

get the aftermarket ones with teflon imbedded in them. i think theyre called hyperfax. should be the last hifax youll ever buy for the thing

You can buy a lot of stock hyfax for $175 ... I just throw new stockers on once a season for about $25 and 15 mins. of time. I ran Hyperfax on my old 2000 RMK but it was a hyfax destroyer ... the Rev's don't seem to have near the wear problems as my old Poo.

Cheap stockers will last a couple of seasons provided you use scratchers.

Widen one of the track windows and you can pull the hifaxes out of the track.
I mark the window so I can find it the next time. I also slightly chamfer the front of the hifax so it slides in the track which I soap up. Can make the change in less that 1/2 hour so no need to spend big bucks.

Couldn't agree more. As said before, you can buy a lot of stockers for $175 and they're easy to replace. Revs don't seem to have much of a problem with hifax wear. I would save myself a $150 to put toward something else and just buy the stockers. I bought new stockers last year and they are still in great shape. I don't ride a lot of trails so they don't get much wear and tear. I guess if you're on the trail a lot I would install some ice scratchers either way. Just my .02.

I'm still on my stock set after 2200 miles. Every year at the beginning of the season I pull my suspension to inspect/ grease it and go over the hyfax with a propane torch. it cleans them up a touch and smoothes them out. imho

Hyperfax work excellent in good snow. If you ride in marginal conditions at all, the dirt will eat them very quickly.

As said the cheap stock hyfax work fine.
