2004 Polaris Edge 800 tail light wiring help

Hey all

I live in Washington state and recently bought a 2004 Polaris Edge 800

I've been tinkering with it getting it ready for the snow and noticed the previous owner had no taillight.

I purchased an led one and can get it to light when sled is running but can't get it to brighten up when brake lever is pulled.

It is a 3 wire taillight. Anyone know which color in the harness is for stop ?

Experiment. It's not like you are dealing with 10,000 volts.

I added an LED brake/taillight to my '03 Edge. I tapped into the existing wires.
This is how I set mine up. I would think the '04 should be the same wire colors, but 100% sure. Hope this helps.

My new LED has 3 wires:
1. Ground (White)
2. Brake (Red)
3. Tail (Black)

'03 Edge 700 XC SP Wiring
1. Ground (Brown)
2. Brake (Orange)
3. Tail (Yellow)

thanks - I think my brake light switch needs to be replaced.

Hey no problem. Before you replace it, I would clean the switch contacts with some di-electric grease. It might be just dirty, and needs to be cleaned. Might save some money there.

i had one switch break the little plastic pin that rides on the brake handle, if you don't hear a small click noise when squeezing the handle its probably broke
