My 2002 edge 800 rnk clutch spider is bad. Do they normally go bad?

I'm told I can't just buy that part and replace..so what are my choices?

new? ebay? and if ebay what clutch models fit my sled. This was bad news today.

Thanks for your help.

Polaris web site states your clutch #1321880 was used in 800's from 2000 to 2005 also in 600 & 700's from 2003 to 2005. Used is cheaper but many are junk. Would not by used unless I could inspect first.

shouldn't be to hard to find a clutch for that thing. any p85 will work. LOTS out there...im sure someone has a decent used one they'll sell ya cheap.

Or another option is to put little shims on the side of the weight thats rubbing into the spider. Ive done this many times and gives ya some more life outa your clutch..

I use ones that come out of an older Arctic Cat M-cat.

Heres the part number. 0646-101

How did you deal with the damaged areas and balance? I think I have the same problem with my 2003 800 RMK also.

Get a new clutch that thing is swinging on the end of the crankshaft do you want to risk that? well do ya?

If the weights haven't dug into the spider too bad you can rebuild the whole thing and have it re-balanced... done that several times.

Otherwise, new clutch. The clutch off a 900RMK will work as well and has a stronger spider in it.
