2002 700 viper question

anyone know what the compression on these motors should be starting with the mag side the center and the clutch side any info would be great thanks

Compression

On my gauge, it was about 140lbs

150 Lbs on all three of mine

110-115 PTO, 125-130 for the center and Mag. Tested when the sled was new after a short break-in period. Stock Viper heads run a staggered compression ratio, with the PTO chamber being larger.

that's correct....pto dome volume 24cc-25cc and the center and mag domes 21cc-22cc approx.

I hope you didnt pull the head off before the correct specs were posted.

Nothing worse then bad info being posted.

As the last two posted they have staggered compression. At 1000ft with a Snap-On gauge they test about 110,130,130. Eric

i had new piston and rings all the way across and 2 new cylinders done and ran the compression after a fresh rebuild and had the mag side run 120 the center 105 and the pto 105 was wondering if those numbers are low or if they go up as the rings seat themselves.
