I am not a Doo guy at all here but I need some help for a buddy's sled..

We have what is basically a stock 800 motor and we need to put some descent power to this track, any suggestions?

We are looking at a possible Team clutch conversion and somebody's clutch kit:confused:

Where to start?

Thanks!

you try cleaning it all out and playing around with the clickers, maybe change some weights, before you put alot of money into it.

Have a read of this

That summit has a formula secondary, if you were to find a used HPV secondary then I could hook you up with a kit that works great in that sled.

Here are some secondaries on ebay motors

330370895340

I would supply a 160/350 primary spring, summit 800 secondary spring, pin kit for your elevations and SMT helix
You would be able to throw in about 17g in clicker 3 and go from there.

Proven setup, works great, little tune.

Thanks Joe...

So this HPV clutch would be better than going to a Team? They appear to be very inexpensive, what is the difference in this vs. the one he has now?

the stock secondary works pretty good if set up properly. I might see about a dynamo joe or cudney kits both are good kits with no geuss work other then adjusting you clickers for proper max r.p.m.

If your willing to spend the money for a clutch kit then i would do it. I was kinda having the same problems with mine until i set the primary clutch to a 4 instead of a 1(which was stock setting) the change in the primary gave me more rpm's while climbing and it just felt more powerful in general. There are blots with numbers around them on the primary try adjusting them and see how you like it before investing in a clutch system. just make sure they are all set to the same number!!

Thanks Joe...

I don't know what the team will be like. Maybe there is someone out there that rides in the similar location with similar sled that has done the testing and give out that information - save you buying a handful of helix's.

I only can say that my kit would be better than stock and that hpv 27 secondary would be a small investment.

You would be able to merely adjust the pinweight once or twice and not look back. Just have to make sure your engine is up to snuff, hot and cold compression check out good so you will have long life consistency in clutch calibration.

Joey

I've got a 600HO, an 800r and my dad has a 800HO all of them have Dynamoe Joe's respective kits in them. They work. Ditch the formula secondary, don't buy a TEAM and buy a stock Ski-Doo RER clutch and DJ's kit. My opinion

I currently have both a team 04 and a hvp, the differences is that the team is a roller and the other one isn't and the team has about 1/8" diameter bigger helix, if you buy a hvp Joe does make a good clutch kit so I've heard, otherwise you can make sure that it has a 44deg helix(stock summit) and a violet purple spring 157lbs 1 1/4 and 300 2 1/4 load spring in it, or buy one. The team if you purchase buy a tss04 new version, you will need a 42-44 helix and a 160-300 spring(Do not call team and get there spring that they call for it is WRONG your secondry will not shift out correctly and you will be dissapointed like I was just trust me I had 20 secondary team springs and still had to order the one that worked and it of course was on back order???? For the primary I would suggest a 160-350 front spring, 300ramps or 293x, and adjustable pin's to fine tune for elevation, motor should spin no more than 8k on tach usually off 200 7800 is ideal for motor, now granted this is only a suggestion and this is what works for me but may not work for you as now 2 sleds are the same, just my .02 happy sledding :beer;:)

The violet secondary spring is a 225/300.
You would not want the 160/300 installed, the rpms would be in the basement.

Stock gearing is fine.
Most common mod is going the equivalent of 2 teeth lower overall ratio.
...stock works well too.

what would happen and has anyone tried running the white spring from zx chassis secondary in the HPV clutch?

primary setup to go with hpv sec

what spring is everyone running in the primary with that hpv secondary setup? i saw the part where the primary has 14 to 17 grams in the arms, but wondering what spring would work best.
