My wife’s 01 700 summit needed new intake boots the old ones had cracked apart and were no good anymore. Luckily I caught this before any damage to the engine could be done during my pre-season maintenance.
Well it took two failed attempts on eBay before I just went and bought new boots. The sled was torn down for over a month while my previous eBay flops were handled (returned and blah blah..)
Today I got the new boots and put them in, I then started putting everything back together. I ran into two small snags.
First, there is a small plate that mounts between the two intake boots. It has a little metal hanger on it. I saw no function for the hanger except to droop the fuel line over which if I recall this is how it came apart.
Secondly, there is a vacuum nipple on the bottom front of the pressure manifold and for the life of me I can't find the line that goes to it. I looked around and found a picture on eBay and this one appears to not have a line on it either. Is there a line that goes to this? I looked all through the sled and everything looks like it's hooked up as it should, no extra lines anywhere to be seen.
