2001 Mountain Cat 800 Recoil

Hello,
I blew up my recoil (pull start) assembly last weekend and need to find one hopefully before this next weekend. The Rope broke, but when I took the assembly off the side of the motor the spring was broken in a couple pieces and the plastic pulley in there was completely chewed up.

Please PM me if you have one for sale.

Thanks,
Dan

P.S. I am located in boulder co.

Make sure you retrieve all of the metal pieces that should be in the starter !! Like if you don't find them all do yourself a favor and pull the flywheel to get them. Gets ugly if the pieces get behind the flywheel. Also if you get a new starter from cat they have improved the design >>>>.

Engine Pro 5X is exactly right on this one. Pull the magneto off and check under it just to be safe. Will chew things up under there and also make the sled run like crap! I had this happen to my 01 Mountain SnoPro and couldn't figure out forever why the 440 was running so terrible. Decided to change out the motor for a 600 BB and when I pulled the 440 electrics apart found some of those spring pieces behind the mag raising havock with everything. Whenever I have a recoil come apart I always pull the mag now just for a look see. Good Luck!

PS how soon do u need a recoil? I may have an extra one lying around.
