2001 800 rmk crank case the same 2002-05

I need a crank case for a 2003 vertical escape 800! I found a good clean one from a 2001 800 RMK. I know that it was not a ves motor but thats just the cylinders. Can someone tell me for sure if its the same? Same crank? same bearings? If i rebuilt it can i put the VES jugs on it?

Made some calls this morning and thought i would share this info. YES tha crank cases are the same in the 2000-2005 800cc engines.

The 2000 is actually a bit different in the reed cage area... just more material in there. You can use them fine, but if using the 2000 cases I've "opened" the reed case area up a little bit.
