2000 mountain max oil pump settings-help!!

Have a 2000 MM 700 which I finally got around to putting a riser on which required longer throttle and oil pump cables. The new cable does not have the adjustment in the center of the cable as the factory one did. I called my local dealer for directions on adjustment and was told to look for markings on the lever and pump housing to adjust by. Not finding any. Adjusted to was getting full oil at full throttle but of course going through a lot of oil now. Does anyone have the correct way of setting the oil pump up with aftermarket cable that only has adjustment at the pump bracket end? thanks

If you were happy with oil consumtion with your previous cable setup then put you old oiler cable back on and route it as it had been before. Hook it up to your thottle paddle. Now check the gap between the tab on the the pump arm and the pump body at no throttle and then at WOT. Use a feeler gauge to measure at no throttle. It is possible that it may have no gap. Now reinstall your new longer cable and see if it is the same. You can adjust it down where the cable mounts to the oil pump bracket if need be. In the past I have actually had remove the upper adjuster nut and replaced it with a thinner nut or washer on a "certain" afermarket cable to get things adjusted properly.
