Hi, I have a 2000 MM Yamaha and it will only run with the choke on. With the choke off it will run for a second then rev (starving for fuel) and die. On choke, it runs fine...??? Pilot jet issue???.....

Thanks!!

dirty carbs. pull them off and get a shop to clean them for you. fastes easiest. cheapes way to do it

Make sure the idle mixture screws come out of the bottom of the carbs when it is cleaned. I was having the same issue and forgot to do this the first time I pulled them off. It is one of the smallest orifices on the carb so it gets plugged up easy.

Cleaned mine out and it is still doing it although it did get better. My dealer said he has seen the problem widespread. He says it is because of the the fuel that everyone is using now that has the Ethanol in it. Makes sense. He said if the carbs are clean and still doing it to try and back the idle mixture screws on the bottom of the carbs out another half to three quarter turn.

take off your carbs clean them yourself (no need to take it to a shop its an easy process ive done it a dozen times) and spray some carb cleaner through them. after you thoroughly clean them adjust your idle screw while the sled is running and you will be able to tell by sound when it is idling right. also check your jets and pilots as you said.

Thats what my problem was, got the sled donated to me by my GF's family since it didn't run. Cleaned the carb (twice since I didn't have any resources or really know a damn'd thing about sleds) It runs great now for 2 years! Probably should do it again when I do the topend this year!
