2 yr and $600 Accessories versus 4 Yr Warranty

So whats the thinking on the best choice between 2 yr warranty with $600 accessories or go with a 4 year warranty.

Let me say that I really don't need the stuff that is offered as accessories and probably won't have the sled longer than 1 or 2 years.

So my question is at the 2 or 3 yr mark, if I'm selling the sled with the 4 yr warranty, will it pay off.......... kinda thinking it might.

I don't want to get into a conversation about whether the sled stays stock or if you add stuff to void warranties, that is another topic.

Take 2 year warranty with no accessories and you get a $450 rebate. If you trade after a year or two dealer will not care about warranty. If you sell outright... Depends on the buyer and market.

I always go with the 2 year warranty. Got the IDD for free on my '16. I don't leave them stock anyway.

I get the long warranty and sell after a year or 2. Warranty matters to buyers. I leave my sleds stock too, that seems to help as well.

You can burn up $600 in accessories pretty quick. Tunnel bag, dash bag and a cover wipe that right out. I think the 2 yr warranty is sufficient if you sell after a year. I think lots of guys found out how hard it is to sell a used Polaris without a warranty this season. I wouldn't want one without it.

warranty

Much more value in the 4 year warr IMO

Yep I agree

I'm looking at it through this lens:

two basically identical sleds for sale,

one has no warranty, the other has 2 years remaining

I'd bet the warranty sled will sell first.

If you plan to leave the sled stock I agree the warranty is worth more than $600 in accessories. However my 17 will have a sidekick on it so I'm getting the 2yr with the $450 refund.

The real question is why wouldn't you get a 4 year warranty? There is way more Pro's vs Con's for it. That $600 in accessories does nothing for resale value, or that $450 rebate is pennies on the dollar compared to an extra 2 years of warranty.

Also dont think of it as years but mileage protection depending on how many miles you put on a sled in a year. Lets be honest every ride out is a count down till a major engine or mechanical failure happens.
