2 wheel kit and turbo

Just wondering if it is safe to run a 2 wheel kit on a turbo apex. I had one on my rev and loved it. Will they stand up to the juice/boost?

As long as the track isn't too tight, shouldn't be any more stress on the TApex than there was on your Rev. You don't plan on jumping the Tapex do you? :eek: Landing on the rear with a 2 wheel kit could (probably) bend rails.:beer;

No not looking to jump it. I just like they way they look and let the sled come over easier. I think most guys are running the tapex tracks pretty tight though.

I had one on two years ago. I didn't have any problems. I went back to four just for the piece of mind.

We had one sled spit two wheels on the way back to town one night. After that I started worring about the two wheel kit. They look nice, but not worth the extra worries in my mind.

Thats the feeling I have been getting. I seem to see a lot more nytros running them that the apex.

Had 2 Cat 8" wheels on a TNytro, Experianced ratcheting problems in the steep n deep climbs, went back to a 4 wheel system with no problems since.

I believe there is to much give in the light weight plastic wheels, never tried aluminum but it would stop the rear wheels from distorting

Why limit yourself?????

I had the light bulb go on in my head a while back on this one. Two wheel kits look cool, at least I think so. But, you give up a wheel's worth of durability to move the rear wheels inside of the rails. Not normally a problem, but if you need to really tighten up the track in a situation like being boosted, it's probably not worth the sacrifice. Well, the answer is so obvious, I can't believe that no one else thought of it before: :confused:

If Wes Little ever gets off of the golf course and brings his sled back to Brad Story's shop, I'll get you pictures of the 1st OFT Racing 3 wheel-inside-the-rails kit installed on a propane powered TAPEX. :)

One HUGE benefit is that all of the track tension is inside of the windows of the track. That's where the meat is. And yes, 4 wheels will fit too. Anyone for one solid 6" wide wheel? We can work on that one later.....:D
