2 sled trailer behind a Subaru wagon?

JJFlash--from your pics, it looks like you need to get more height on you trailer ball. I sold one of my sleds to guy with a Prius. Now that's funny:D

Roos are great snow cars--no problem with a single--check out Harbor Freight for a trailer--you can easily extend the tongue for a longer bed.

I read somewhere the Impreza tow capacity is limited by forces transferred into the chassis at the hitch receiver mount points, not the power or braking capacity of the vehicle. It's a unibody vehicle after all and I assume the Forester is same. Just something to keep in mind especially offroad towing.

i have an impreza and it says right in the owners manual that you cannot tow with it at all. although a guy i met used his wrx (impreza) to tow 2 crotch rockets to and from races and he said it was the best tow vehicle it has ever had. (it took that vagley but i got the idea)

the forester is a bigger vehicle. could even have the h6 in it.

i just sold my dodge diesel and all i have is my suby right now so if i don't get a new truck here this winter i'll be letting you know exactly how much it can tow.

Actually, the pic of us on the highway showed us loaded beyond belief......4 adults, (2 of us are over 250) roof carrier stuffed with gear, the back of the car was full to the ceiling, and we had just splashed on a full tank of fuel.....LOL

Normally, we have a slight forward slant on the trailer. This is how she handles the best. I had done a bit of experimenting before we set off on any trips, and I found that the car and trailer prefer a tongue-slightly-low attitude.

AnyHoo.....We bought a MegaCab diesel for our towing, so the ol' Passat gets a break.

and the funny thing is if you saw that around here youd call the cops and tell em that a greenie stole sombodies sleds ...lmao

LOL......The reality is that a good majority of VW diesel owners are anything BUT greenies. Most of us are gear-heads who appreciate the torque of a small V8 in a tiny, fuel-sipping package.

Not sure what the ratio of greenie/normal folks who drive Subarus is, but I can say for certain that the 'Bu in my photos (Buddy John) is NOT hippee owned....LOL

Haha sorry if this doesn't answer your question, but all the damn hippies around here drive them Outhouses.. (Missoula, MT) yeah, hippie central. Saw one pullin four cannoes on a two place snowmobile trailer, it was doin about 20 up evero hill. laughed my *** off all the way to polson.
I'd invest in a pickup. Good luck:beer;

Love it Love it Love it.........Have ya seen the new 3 series diesel??

To each their own.
Anyone can tow with whatever they gotta tow with.

But when you are holding up traffic, pull over & let them by.
The rest of us didn't buy capable towing rigs just to get stuck behind someone who didn't.
(Road rage is already setting in!:mad:)

I've never seen electric brakes on a 2 place, but that would be a great solution for such a small tow vehicle.

Swing by Dave.... i put a new axle with electric brakes under my 2-place echo this summer....:D:beer;

As other have said, you you take your time and use common sense, you'll be fine.... If you find the right sled trailer for the right price, pick it up... You can always swap the axle for a minimum price... i picked my axle up for $225 and found out afterwards that i could have gotten it cheaper... It's a 3500 axle btw...

Wow, tree higging hippie bashing and Pink Floyd lyrics all on a thread about Subarus towing sleds LMFAO :D.

I liked the Bratt with a sled bed idea the best!!!

Still lookin fer a single, and don't worry, I'll be pullin over, just don't be doin 70+ in near white out conditions in yer big truck towing 4 sleds... see above comments about stupid creating it's own problems..., actually I guess that would be social Darwinism:face-icon-small-win

A friend of mine tows a lot with an Outback; usually one sled, but sometimes has 2 on.

I know an old guy that tows behind an old '83 Subaru wagon; All 65 HP....He's not fast, but always gets there......

Your pushing the limit on you car, add snow and ice and you could easily be over that limit without even knowing it till it's to late.
Buy a beater 1/2 ton 4x4. I just sold one for $1300 that was mechanically sound and the body wasn't bad either. They are all over the place for cheap, you will be glad you did. They will handle an open 2 place just fine all day long on snow and ice. my.02
You don't even want to know what I use for a tow rig!

I pulled a two place trailer with a dodge mini van for years (still have the van). Yes I live in the flat lands but we went to Fernie for new years every year. Take your time and drive carefully and you'll be fine. As for stopping it slow down sooner, just because you have a big diesel rig doesn't make you stop faster on ice.:D
