same problem
i also have an 03 mxz 800 144" and get about the same fuel milage. called teh local dealer and was told all you can do is re jet and they are that horrible on fuel. my buddy has an 03 summitt with mods and he burns about 5 gal a full day. have you found anything. cuz i am slowly running out of ideas!
