2 more die in colorado avalanche

2 More Die !

Fellow Riders, This was a tragedy. 2 weeks of snow, 2 days or more of heavy winds, huge cornice, a history of danger on that part of that mt., no beacons, and three guys on the same slope at the same time. If they had only had the knowledge of avalanches, this could have been avoided.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, Get some avalanche awareness training with your local club, from an avalanche or search and rescue personel, or in books or online maybe.
Then go get yourself a beacon-shovel-probe set up. This can save lives.
This season is shaping up to be as dangerous as last year here in Colorado.

I dread hearing this kind of news......every year during the holiday season, it's hold my breath and hope that everyone is safe and that I don't have to read this kind of thing. :( Unfortunately that's not the case. :face-icon-small-sad

My thoughts and prayers to the family and friends. :brokenheart:

PLEASE, everyone, play it safe out there. Live to ride another day.

tragic/avoidable

this year just got started really. The predictions are for a record year of fatalities. It's dangerous out there and people are being careless. The media and the AVy folks are doing everything but stealing our skis... yet this keeps happening. wake up folks! :(

wow! another in-bounds ski accident too. enough said about the backcountry then. it's not worth dying for.
