Ride #1- Methow Valley last weekend. Wife and I got a wild hair and decided to go over for the weekend. I had concerns that the riding would suck... BOY was I wrong! Saturday we went up to Sweetgrass Butte, 2' or so of fresh UNTOUCHED snow. It was a tad on the wet side but made for some awesome riding! Sunday we went up to McLeod and played around... at least 2' of fresh up top and untouched! We never saw another soul the whole weekend either... I guess everyone is scared off by the bare south slopes down low. It was a great weekend! And to boot, I almost took highmark honors over 2 XP 163's... one 08 and one 09. My buddy on the 09 beat me by about 10'... oh well
Ride #2- north of Newport, WA yesterday. Left from the Batey-Bould motorcycle trail head and worked our way up toward Calispell Peak (we thought). I forgot to bring a map so we had no idea where we were at exactly. We were getting pretty disappointed because there was nowhere to play down low, but we kept working our way up the hill and hit the mother lode! found at least 2' of fresh, untouched now again! But boy, was it wet... we had a lot of stucks but had a good time also.
Long story short- there is still good riding to be had in eastern WA- don't put the sleds away just yet!
