2 Days With Burandt - My Review

2 Days With Burandt - My Review **PICS attached**

I just wanted to give you all a recap of my buddy and I's recent trip to ride with Chris Burandt in Colorado. We read about Burandt's Backcountry Adventure at the beginning of the season and decided we counldn't pass up the opportunity to ride with and learn from the best. Let me tell you.....we made the right decision!! From the minute Chris' wife Sandy picked us up at the airport until we were dropped back off 3 days later.....we had the time of our lives on this trip! Everything about this trip was top-notch.......

The Lodge: This place was awesome!! A 4 bedroom house complete with firplace, big-screen tv, whirlpool tub, camo Love Sack (you'll see), and a crazy-cool heated floor shop details your home for the duration of your stay. The lodge was extremely clean and comfortable and was the perfect place to relax after a day of extreme riding. This place rules!!

The Food: Wow!! Home-cooked meals by Bev (Chris' mother-in-law) and Sandy were one of the many highlights of this trip. The food kept getting better and better and we can't say thanks enough for the hospitality. Bev and Sandy were awesome....thanks ladies!!

The Riding: OK.....I'm not sure I'll do this justice but I'll give it a try. Chris is without a doubt one of the best riders (and nicest people) you will ever meet. We rode in some insane areas with insane snow (deep & untouched) for 2 days and could hardly move a muscle when we were done. We learned a ton, rode some insane terrain, and were able to watch Chris do some things with his sled we didn't think were possible. Not sure how else to say it......Burandt can flat-out ride!! We were in the trees most of both days, saw maybe 2 other people the whole time, and had an absolute blast!! Clayton Stassart from Slednecks even tagged along day one to flim Chris for Slednecks 11.....no shortage of amazing material filmed that day!

The Sleds: This was another amazing part of the trip. We were able to ride the new 2009 Arctic Cat M8s during both days we were there. These sleds are absolutely amazing and are a huge improvement over the 2008s. From the weight-loss and new risers to the awesome new track.....these sleds rip and were a blast to ride!! Chris will be running a spring promotion (April 15 - June 1) where you can book with him at a discounted rate and ride the new '09s!!! I highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity to ride the new Cats with Burandt.....awesome!! (I rode the new '09 Camo M8 153" w/ Boss seat both days.....sweeeeeet!!)

As you can probably tell by now.....this trip was an amazing experience. Do yourself a favor and book your dates for the '09 Cat spring promotion or for next season. We'll definately be back at least once next year!! One tip: Booking with a larger group (up to 6) will help cut the cost of the lodge rental.

Feel free to PM me with any questions or comments. I'll do my best to post some pics ASAP!! Get booked and have a blast! Check out www.burandtsbackcountryadventure.com for details and to contact Chris to book your dates.

Thanks Chris!!!

Does Chris let you ride any of his sleds? ;)

Wow, every person who has gone on one of these trips has nothing but, great reports!!

The price really depends on how many people you have in your group. The more people to share the cost of the lodge the better. All of the info is on his website but here's a quick rundown:

Sleds: $300/day gave us access to either a '09 M8/M1000 or a full-mod '08 M8/M1000 and all gas, oil, and insurance. (Chris may even let you rip one of his turbos if you ask nicely.....) As mentioned......Chris is also running a spring promotion (details to come) in which he is cutting the sled rental in half (from April 15 - June 1) for the new 2009 Arctic Cats. Awesome deal!!

Lodge: $400/night takes care of the lodge rental, 3 amazing meals per day, and access to his huge heated-floor shop. (the rental would be $66/day per person for a group of 6)

Guide: $300/day takes care of the guide fee and transportation to/from the mountain.

You mean you didn't have to eat Hot Pockets for 3 days? :D LOL.

Hotpockets were had by all but only for lunch!! BTW: Get yourself one of those Hotdoggers if you get a chance......hot food during a ride with Burandt is a must!!

As far as cost goes.....the trip is 100% worth the money!! You'll see once you do it. The lodge is an awesome place to stay and considering you get all of your meals and you can split the cost with your buddies....I thought the price was very reasonable. The trip would be $667/day if you bring a group of 6 and you rent his sleds.....pretty good for an all-inclusive trip with an awesome guide!! You can also bring your own sled if you wish but the sleds he has for rent are amazing!! You'll have a blast either way.....

Actually the prices seem really reasonable. The guiding fee seems a little high (I think its usually that much for the group....not per person?) But then again you get to ride with a real life celebrity!

The sled rentals seem really cheap though. 300 a day INCLUDING all gas and oil?

Yep....gas and oil included with the rental. Wasn't expecting to ride the new '09s when we got there.....just an added bonus. Chris ripped his turbo M8 day 1 as well so we were able to hop on that thing for a bit......holy sheet that thing's awesome!!

i may have misread it or maybe you did but i thought it was 300per day not per person

I was just going by jtrain's figure of 667 per day with 6 guys. 300/day per sled, 67/day for lodging with 6 guys, 300 for guiding. Added it up and just assumed 300 per day per man. Ive never had a guide personally but heard its 300 a day for a group. (and thats for an AMAZING guide out of sicamous) Not knocking Burandt at all. Im sure its a blast riding with him.

The guide fee is $300/day per person.....a fair fee IMO if you consider 1) it's Burandt 2)the amazing terrain he'll take you to 3) how much you'll learn from him 4) how many times he'll dig you out after you put one of his sleds in a tree well.....LOL!! (I probably should have paid him double for as many times as he dug my sled out...)

I can't say enough how fun this trip was. I've talked to a number of other Burandt clients as well....all feel the same and will be back. Nobody I've heard from has questioned the fees once their trip was done. Give it a try either this spring or sometime next winter.....you won't regret it!!
