We have about 6-8 guys going out in late january and we are wondering on where to rent sleds and stay at.Looking to stay in laramie. So kinda wondering about mavericks and then someplace close to crash wether it be a motel or a house, cabin whatever. But also close to some good food and cold drinks.
Or would we be better going up to Centennial.Just looking for some ideas. Thanks

It really depends on how much you want to drive. They both have there advantages. Laramie has better hotels and better food/drinks, Cennt. is closer and you can rent sleds from Snowy Range Adventures. When you rent sleds from Mavrick you have to pay extra for gear, and it comes with the Snowy Range Adventures rental. Then if you rent sleds from Mavrick you have to rent a trailer too and it is 36 miles from Laramie to Green rock Parking area. If that is where you were going to ride out of. So if I were you and you want to ride yamaha rent from Snowy Range Adventures but drive down to Laramie, Better hotels and alot of bars! If you have anymore questions let me know...

chris a mountain meadow cabins rents ski doo, I should say he did last year. He was talking about selling off rentals at the end of last year. there is also another guy up by snowy mountain lodge that rents yamaha, if chris is not renting that is who he will refer you to. I have been staying at MMC for about 5 years, and like it very much. If you want a bar next door its not the place. Chris hauls all your stuff into the cabin by snow cat. Cabins are fully furnished. I think the best part is there is no 40min ride up from laraime, just walk out the door and go.

What about winter creek condos.Dooesnt seem like a bad rate. Will ride anything really.Would prefer a yamaha but can't always get what you want.Just want simple and able to have a lot of fun and not driving all over to get where we want to be.

Here is mountain meadow cabins phone number 1-307-742-6042. Where are you from. I think I am going out there Jan 3 or Jan 10 for about 5 days. will be leaving from northern IL.

What ever you decide to do, do it early. Real early, everything books up fast. Cabins, Hotels and sleds. If you want to ride trails ride out of Albany. If you want off trail ride out of Green rock parking area.

stayed at winter creek for the last couple of years - nice place. We will be there around Jan 20th and again in March. You will probably still want to trailer to Greenrock park area up top. We rode up on some back trail once - i would rather waste the gas on top of the mountain than getting there!

check out the red house at albany lodge. all 8 of you can stay in there (NO SPOONING ) . food & drinks &rentals right there. that is your best for convenience.

Talked to albany lodge about sleds but they don't offer any insurance. Is that gonna be a problem. We probably won't be jumping off no mountains and stuff like that.Maybe some crazy stuff but not to bad.And no there will NOT be any spooning.Any strip joints in the area? Thanks crossfire thats a bad thought u should get some help for just thinking about that.LOL

There are NO strip clubs in Laramie. I know not cool but what can you do. If I were renting I would get insurance. But that is just me, I don't have the money to buy another sled. Where are you guys coming from?

I have rented from albany a couple different times (my sled was ....... broke). Never had a problem.

There is also http://www.albanycabins.com/
It was someone's home at one time. It's NICE. They also have a double wide mobile home they rent. I have stayed there. It will sleep 6 -8 no problem, so will the cabin. The trailer is within 5 minutes ride of the food and booze and the cabin is stagger distance.

where at in nw iowa i form lemars and always looking for people to ride with stay at mountain meadows it rocks only down fall is no night life

I am from Sioux City, Work at Wells in Le Mars. I made reservations for the Old Corral today. I am heading out for the first ride thanksgiving weekend. Old corral is great place to stay and awesome food ! Right at the bottom of the mountain so you can do green rock or Albany.

old corral is nice. their steaks are great. it's the first place i ever had a deep fried pickle(not too bad). They don't serve alchohol but you can buy it at the bar next to the friendly store

I'm trying out the Snowy's for the first time this year. Staying at MMC. Feb or Mar '09. I spoke with Chris recently and when I asked about rentals he was uncommited but said they'd still will be available.

rocks

Be careful at that time, went out at that time 3 years ago and came back with 2 totaled sleds. Both with bent bulkheads and tunnels. Alot of rocks and stumps are not covered enough to ride over. Take a cautious ride in meadows and on hills before tearing them up.
