10” Snow. Road riding only

Neither sled would get RPM’s over 7,600
I think they just need more time to break in
Maybe adjust primary weight…time will tell

Fuel gauge read empty on one when tank was full

Recoil stopped working on other then worked again at truck

Should be good sled with minor fixes for little things and some clutch set up.

Hey . . . mine is reading empty with a full tank also. I have not got to ride it yet, maybe this weekend if the snow keeps falling.

I wonder what this fuel gauge issue is?

LOL, this is the 5th Recoil issue ive heard of and its the 4th of November.

Im ordering spare parts by the truck load. LOL

some 08 sleds were having problems with the fuel Guage, check the fuse behind the Airbox.

Gas guage...

My '08 XP did that. No gas guage. The fuse looked perfect, like a new fuse should. Tested it with the multi-tester, and it had no continuity. Installed a new fuse, problem solved.

Casey, are you on a XP this year??
I thought you said the XP was "a bucket of bolts"

Or did you get an XP to have something to tow arround with the boosted Yami.
You still with CR Racing?

I thought you said the XP was "a bucket of bolts"

It is LOL. Well, the one I rode last spring had 380 miles on it and after 3 days of riding it the chain was laying on the foot well, with all kinds of nice aluminum pieces. Bolts were loose, no warmers, no gauge, 2 belts and all kinds of "issues", but i really loved the chassis and the handling, not the lack of poor quality. BRP claims that they have taken care of it, we will soon see. For myself and my riding style, I have always worked more on the chassis than the HP. Chassis is everything IMO, and from somewhat limited seat time (3 or 4 days) I really liked the XP even tho it was an everest 154 in stock form and prolly dealer set up by a 16 yr old doing community service:eek::eek:

I'm like everyone else on here, hoping that they cured there problem's from 08'. Skeptical doesnt even begin to explain it. I've told people for years Im not a biased brand loyalist, my Yami's have been insanely reliable even with 300hp. I had less problems with my 3 turbo's than any of my previous sled's to date, but I also built those myself from the ground up and took my time doing it. I've go 12 tubes of locktite and im going to town on the XP so chit's not falling out of it LOL.

I'll be posting up the good and the bad as usual, just hope there's nothing bad to say. Fingers are crossed:D:D Come on BRP, make me a believer again.

....... Come on BRP, make me a believer again.

LOL...whatever you're smokin', bring some to Revy!!

BRP has had recoil issues since the beginning of time... My 809 has gone through several (I carry a full spare to bolt on). Same with the Rev's, and now with the XP's. Hopefully, that is the worst of the problems this year.

so, since the 670, they still have yet to get the recoil to work... rofl... gj doo.

kept saying if my recoil failed again on my Rev, it would have lt wt estart..and be done with that bs... burn hands and fingers way too many times and held up groups too many times dealing w/ that crap.

guess recoil isn't too high on their priorities list...after they can keep one together then they'll worry about starting it more than 50 times on 1 recoil. lol

I am still trying to decide what seld to get this year. Was leaning towards pickin up the X today, but I must say all these early season bugs already are making me have second thoughts.............

Fuel Gauge Not Working?
The gauge may read empty and the Low Fuel
Warning Light may come on even though the tank is
full. A good place to start your diagnostics is with the
inline .25 AMP fuse which is located between the air
box and fuel tank. Check the holder to make sure the
fuse is not blown and to make sure there is good
contact between the fuse and the spring.

Snap.....All the aftermarkets parts youll need.

As for the recoil, It's not advised to grab a handful of the rope....As stupid as this sounds you have to pull the recoil gently it's a skadoo. And it should always start by the 3rd gentle pull.

As for the chain its long SOB over 100 links compared to the shorter 74-75 link chain. So it's also advised to keep an eye on the chain tension.

OT

Go with E-start and never look back. Totally agree with OT, allow the recoil to engage before yankin! It seems it's usually the same peeps that have recoil issues although I'll agree, they're garbage!

Havn't had a recoil issue on any Doo since 1998....and we have several in our group. Tons of issues before that.
Chain tension is important...they will stretch, especially first few rides.
