1st Day of winter ride at the Coq

Went up to the Coq today. Lots of trucks in the lot. Asked about Henning and was told it was closed and everyone was heading to 10k. Asked if it was actually closed or just not recommended and was told that we could ride it but would probably trash our sleds and only if we were expert riders. Hell yeah....made it without too much trouble and had the entire mountain to ourselves. New sled has 300 miles so far and is running perfect on stock belts?

We measured 4' total up top...about 18-20" base with 24-30" of new. Unfortunately it was more like 12" base with 20" new 500-600 feet lower?

Coquihalla Summit, between Hope and Merritt. It is too far and the snow and crowds always suck. Don't waste your time. Stampede is better.

That looks great! I don't see any cascade concrete.

The Coq gets a good dose of the Frazier Eastside cold air and while the Cascades get 6k freezing levels it usually stays around the pass (3400') while the top riding area is good (5500-6200'). Great area but bring your Canadian $20's for fees.

Re-Todd. Years back I rode with the Racers Edge Ski-doo dealer in Chilliwhack. I remember at one point he pointed to another mountain range and told us it was bear paw and you could actually faintly see sledders riding. You guys ever ride there? Have always wanted to go back but its been so long I have no clue how to get there.
