1M chain case

Hey,,, 1Mers is it possible to remove reverse from the chain case or do you have to buy another case without reverse?

It is relatively easy to remove the reverse setup. You remover the idler shaft and gears and but a nut back on the bolt that held it in place so that it doesn't work loose and leave a hole that looses all your oil. You will aso need the non reverse cover. lThe rest is fairly straight forward. If you need some more info send me a PM. I might also be interested in the reverse guts when you take them out if they are in good shape.

The calendar tells me I am getting old. You saw for yourself didn't you? I have a son your age and one older. I still don't feel my age and refuse to act it but I found several years ago that reverse sure beats dragging a sled backwards by hand.

you are not old pop, and yeah reverse is just nice to have. Age is all in how you act and feel, physically you are a young buck, it is those "senior moments" and the onset of adult ADD that makes think you are old. Just sayin....

So is it just as easy to put reverse in a non reverse case and what all would be needed?

It is not difficult but I would recommend buying a complete kit or a kit removed from a sled. If you are putting one on a big twin I would get the 15 wide chain and plan on replacing it every year. Also the range of gearing choices is not as wide, but I haven't found that to be a problem, I have stuck with one setup and haven't seen the need to change it.

also if you end up buying a new chaincase you can use the COMPOSITE case off the 600ss sleds to save a few lbs! Not sure on the price diffrences though.

Swap reverse for stock

Have a brand new stock chaincase. Purchased a new 03 900 mountain cat and put reverse on it. Still in the bag. Call me if interested. 402-740-1663.

Went to my local polars dealer and ask for a 46 hyvo gear said they dont list this gear ,asked me what i was doing I said I was going to a 20/46 gear change He said thats not right ?? So can some one send me to a dealer in bc to help me get some gears

KMMAC, if you find a drop case (03-04) sled with reverse, and want to get rid of it, let me know... I'm sick of dragging mine backward all the time to get it out of the trailer. I'll swap you cases and we'll both be set!!
(I have a '04 600 with the composite case (or is it just the cover?).

I'll make up for the weight difference by only carrying 11 gal of gas instead of 12. I'll still be the last one to run out of fuel by a long shot, so it'll be OK.
