Has anyone figured out what is needed to put the thermostat out of the 18 in a 16 engine? Thermostat housing and head cover? Or head as well?

You need a head as well.the thermostat is deeper as well. I just put a Bikeman 18 upgrade head on my 17 in January. More cost effective than oem. Run high 90's most of the time.

I was looking at that, how do you like the bikeman head?

I also did the y-pipe, pipe, powderlight can and bullydog. It pulls way better mid to top end. I am pulling 66gr weights at 5-7500ft. 8350rpm spot on for the bikeman stage 2. I did the 0-6000ft head instead of the above 6000 head. Didn’t want any issues as i ride a lot at 6000. I like it and would do it again as it did exactly what i was looking for. My son rides my 2015 pro and we compare temps all the time and it runs 20 -25 degrees hotter on average.

Did the same setup as tb did. I find my sled runs about 10* warmer than it did minus the head / bulldog.
Had the pipe/can previously, with a PCV from dyno Jim and his map in it..
Pulls like crazy tho with the BMP setup. 68.5g at 4200' and I'm banging out 8400-8550...
