162 or 153

for climbing and boondocking, 2.5" 162 is probably the best all around set-up.if you mainly climbing chutes than go with rail extension and 174"

where do you ride, riding style, and how much do you weigh then maybe we can answer the ?

I am in the same boat you are. About to get a turbo M8.

Have asked allot of folks this question. I think the answer is 153 if you like boondocking and the like. Longer track if you prefer hill climbing. The shorter track makes the machine more maneuverable, quicker to turn. You do not lose allot of float.

the 162 is better for boonedocking as far as, it has better take off and floats better.

Take into consideration if you havent ridden both you wont know, The 09+ M's with 162's are easier to throw around than a 08 and older M' 153.

153 is where it's at for me. A lot of this stuff is more rider than track. The shorter track is better all around for everything.

The turbo seems to spin the track so fast that the bigger tracks actually feel like a short track. I am mainly a boondocker and have no trouble getting my 162 around anything in a hurry. It is actually quite amazing how the big tracks handle on a turbo. The longer tracks also seem to keep the nose down better too. I never thought i would need a track bigger than 156" and that is all I have had for the last 10 years, but with the turbo I wouldnt want a shorter track.

If you like to dig your sled out all day long get the short track . If you like to boondock through the trees at slow speeds the 162 is the way to go.

I have rode with 153's quite a bit turbo and N/A , and the 162 guys always have to go help them dig it out.:beer;

162

162 for sure, mine is a 153 now but i am going to finish the season on a 162 and then get the 174 next year, 153 trenches bad with 80 mph track speed and a 200+ lb rider

162 for a turbo. The 153 is fun with a stock motor, but would trench way too much with the turbo.

I agree 100%. Not to say the longer the better just that the longer track on the turbo doesn't handle the same as on a stocker.
